Bingcan Guo
master's student @ UW (she/her)
I am a first-year master's student in the Department of Human-Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington. My research focuses on human-AI interaction, privacy, agents, and creativity support tools. I study user behavior within emerging tech-mediated contexts and design interventions to enhance user autonomy.
I am deeply grateful to be advised by professor Amy X. Zhang at UW Social Futures Lab. I also have the privilege of being mentored by professor Tianshi Li at Northeastern University PEACH Lab. During my undergraduate, I'm very fortunate to be supervised by professor Xiaojuan Ma at the HKUST HCI Initiative.
Prior to UW, I received a double-major BSc. in Data Science and Technology, and Computer Science (first-class honours), with a minor in Mathematics from HKUST, supported by Kerry Holdings Limited Scholarship (full admission scholarship). I was a senior student ambassador and School of Science peer mentor, and received Professor Edmond Ko Scholarships for Student Mentoring 2023-2024.
